Gilbert Albert étudie la joaillerie à partir de 1945 à l’école des Arts industriels de Genève.
Il s’oriente dans un premier temps vers le design horloger.
Entre 1955 et 1962, il devient le chef d’atelier de la Maison Patek Philippe pour laquelle il conçoit le design des « montres asymétriques » devenues depuis des pièces de collection.
En 1958, il signe avec le designer horloger Louis Cottier un concept révolutionnaire de prototype de montre à indication linéaire, la Cobra.
Notre exemplaire est très représentatif du travail de joaillerie de Gilbert Albert, tant par ses proportions que par la finesse du travail de l'or.




Gilbert Albert began studying jewelry making in 1945 at the School of Industrial Arts in Geneva.

He initially focused on watch design.
Between 1955 and 1962, he became head of the workshop at Patek Philippe, where he designed the "asymmetrical watches," which have since become collector's items.
In 1958, he collaborated with watch designer Louis Cottier on a revolutionary prototype watch with a linear display: the Cobra.
