En 1932, la manufacture horlogère française Cartier lançait la Tank Waterproof, la même année que la Cartier Pasha.
Sa présentation, dans un vase rempli d'eau, fit sensation. Le modèle arriva plus tard sur le marché américain, dans les années 1940. Il reprend la structure de la Tank à Guichets. Cependant, le réhaut du cadran, qui se prolonge sur les côtés, rompt le jeu des lignes perpendiculaires et modifie sensiblement les proportions du boîtier.
C'est pourquoi il est répertorié dans les archives Cartier comme un dérivé de la Tank. Malheureusement, en raison de la forme carrée du boîtier, ce modèle ne répondait pas aux exigences d'étanchéité. Produit en petit nombre, il constitue un témoignage précieux des recherches menées par Cartier sur l'étanchéité.
À ce jour, il n'a pas été réédité par Cartier.




In 1932, the French watchmaker Cartier launched the Tank Waterproof, the same year as the Cartier Pasha.
Its presentation, in a vase filled with water, caused a sensation. The model arrived on the American market later, in the 1940s. It retained the structure of the Tank with its open dials. However, the dial's rehaut, which extends to the sides, disrupts the interplay of perpendicular lines and significantly alters the proportions of the case.
This is why it is listed in the Cartier archives as a derivative of the Tank. Unfortunately, due to the square shape of the case, this model did not meet water resistance requirements. Produced in small numbers, it constitutes a valuable record of Cartier's research into water resistance. To date, it has not been reissued by Cartier.
