XXIe Trophée Bailli De Suffren 2022 - June 23 to July 9

XXIe TROPHÉE BAILLI DE SUFFREN - "The SUFFREN's TRILOGY"
June 23 - July 9, 2022 - SAINT-TROPEZ, MAHON, CARTHAGE, MALTE

This event is a tribute to Pierre André de Suffren Saint-Tropez, Bailli of the Sovereign Order of Malta and Vice Admiral of the Royal Navy under King Louis XVI.

Organized since 2001 by the Mare Nostrum Racing Club, chaired by Lionel Péan, the Trophée du Bailli de Suffren (TBS) is a traditional cruiser race between Saint-Tropez and Malta.

The route of the race, modified since its creation, essentially perpetuates the memory of the Bailli. Starting in front of the statue of the Bailli on the Port, the sailors are destined for Valletta (Malta), with a stopover in Italy and/or Spain.

This race is intended to be a "gentlemen's race" between exceptional boats, in a friendly spirit accompanied by festive stops.

A specific channel for the race (VHF Channel 44) broadcasts short anecdotes from sailors, music and sea songs, culinary advice and navigation information.

At stopovers, each sailboat hands a bottle of champagne to the sailboat arriving after it, before celebrating the award ceremony in Bon Port, Valletta and continuing the festivities.
